Neck problems What to Expect

Each appointment lasts for half an hour and, if it is your first visit, we ask you to arrive a few minutes early in order for the receptionist to take your administrative details. The physiotherapist will then take a detailed history of how your problem started, how the symptoms behave, what activities or positions agrivate/ease the pain and the limitations it has on your lifestyle. You will be required to undress in order in order to undergo a thorough physical examination of the problem area; if you prefer, bring a pair of comfortable shorts to wear.

Back problemsFollowing the assessment of your problem the physiotherapist will devise a treatment programme that will usually involve some form of manual therapy and exercise, as well as pain-relieving modalities to treat the problem area (e.g. electrotherapy or acupuncture). Each patient's problem is unique and the plan of care will be tailored just for you. Furthermore, you will be encouraged to follow a home exercise programme and will be given advice and education on the mechanics of the body and the correct posture to adopt in order to prevent further injury.

At the Lombard Physiotherapy Clinic, all the physiotherapists have achieved chartered status through university education, together with ongoing post-graduate training, and are goverened by the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy's professional code of conduct. Our aim is to provide you with the highest quality of care and to get you better as quickly as possible.
